The 23-Time Grand Slam Winner, Serena Williams Gives Birth To A Baby Girl

The world number one tennis star has given birth to baby girl. The 35-year-old Serena Williams, who is engaged to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, gave birth on Friday in the late afternoon while her sister Venus Williams was beating an opponent in a major tennis tournament in Flushing, Queens.
Serena Williams has not competed since winning the Australian Open in January, but hopes to play soon and intends to return to the circuit in 2018. It was later discovered that she had been close to two months pregnant at the time. Venus, who was busy with a tennis tournament, replied enthusiastically when asked about her sister’s pregnancy. “Obviously I’m super-excited,” Venus said. “Words can’t describe it.”
The news of her delivery was disclosed by the United States Open’s official Twitter account and her coach, who went on to congratulate her.

Garbine Muguruza joked at a news conference; “A baby girl? Well, I hope she doesn’t play tennis,” Reuters reported.
