Citizens From At Least 24 Countries Are Either Dead Or Injured In The Spain Terror Attacks

  • IWB Post

Following the terror attacks in Barcelona and Cambril wherein two vehicles killed 13 people and injured over 100 people, the Spanish authorities have confirmed that citizens from at least 24 countries were among the ones who died or were critically injured.

The second terror attack in Cambril took place eight hours after the first attack in Barcelona. Six civilians were injured, one critically, and a police officer was hurt too. The police officers then shot dead the five suspects, who appeared to be wearing explosive belts. Unfortunately, the driver escaped and the police are trying to track him down.

The terrorist group, ISIS, has reportedly claimed responsibility for the terror attacks. Many parts of Central Barcelona were sealed off overnight, requesting guests to stay in their homes or hotels. The metro and most transport routes were shut down. Families and friends have been +split up, with police evacuating people to different parts of the city.

24 different nationalities have suffered the loss in this attack. 24 different flags have lost its sheer cheer in the air. 24 different languages have spoken of pain.

What we need to realize is, people who do such heinous acts have no religion, no family, no country. No God ever teaches its disciples to shed innocent blood. They have one mission: to strike fear into the hearts of people, instill doubts in their minds and to break their unity.

There is one thing that such people tend to forget. When there come times like this, we bond together in solidarity and face the fear, refusing to bend our wills, refusing to let them win. Working to make sure that the evil was not successful in its mission, we are in this together.

In a heart-touching example of the very bond we share, people from all over the world have taken to Twitter to stand with Spain in this tragic hour and share their pain,
