One of the widely popular sex myths has been ass-kicked by a study conducted by leading condom company Trojan in partnership with Sex Information and Education Council of Canada (SIECCAN).
Advancing age leading to disappearing libido – thaaat is the myth! In fact, the converse holds true. Advancing age accentuates your libido.

So, if you’re, say 40 or above, there’s at least this one thing (sex) that will make you do the happy-dance!
“There is a public perception that as we age, sex becomes less important, less enjoyable and less frequent. The findings of the study indicate that most midlife Canadians are indeed leading satisfying and active sexual lives,” said sexuality and relationship researcher at the University of Guelph in Canada, Robin Milhausen.

Oh, btw, did I mention that about 2400 Canadians in the age bracket of 40-59 were surveyed about sexual health, pleasure, and happiness, for this study?

Not only are the relationships sexually satisfying, but also emotionally fulfilling in the advancing years. What’s more? The findings of the study also state that people become more adventurous and explorative in their later years (as far as their sexual lives are concerned, at least). Sounds cool, eh?

“Sexual and relationship satisfaction were highly interrelated – and the most emotionally satisfied in their relationships reported the highest level of pleasure. And married people are reporting sex as pleasurable as their single counterparts, in fact, married men reported more pleasure at last sexual encounter than single men,” the researcher added.

Well, well, I don’t see why the world shouldn’t enjoy, given this new-found piece of information. Carpe diem, people!
