What a cool place Bibipur village in Haryana is!
Last time, its Panchayat Head organized a ‘Selfie with Daughter’ contest for his village people to raise awareness about girl child welfare. His idea was so interesting that even the Indian PM, Narendra Modi, enrolled the Indian public at large to be a part of this campaign.
He has proved his excellent creative side once again with the launch of a 40-minute long written contest called ‘Jagruk Lado, Surakshit Lado’ (an educated woman is a safe woman) especially for village women. The participants were asked questions for 60 marks on various laws relating to crime against women.
The questions asked were based on laws like – Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005, Dowry Prohibition Act 1961, Criminal Law (Amendment) Act 2013, Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006, Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Preevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, etc.
The winner of the contest got a reward of Rs 5,100, while 2nd and 3rd winners got Rs 3,100 and Rs 2,100 respectively; along with a trophy and certificate. Other participants were given consolation prizes.
*Slow claps* Panchayat ho toh aisi! Kyun?
