This Rajasthani Family Prefers Live-in Relation Over Marriage

A family in Udaipur has been living in live-in relationships for the past 3 generations. Reason – they consider marriage a bad omen.
This family believes that whoever gets married in their family remains childless. All this started when their forefathers (4 brothers) came to settle in the small village of Merpur. Out of 4, 3 got married but could never bear any child. The 4th one who was in a live-in relationship had children. Since then, the family considers that anyone who gets married in the family remains childless.
This rule applies for their sons and daughters alike.
What do you think of their custom? I, for one, would have liked the concept minus the superstition.
