Purple Skies is a documentary film featuring lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders from India.

After ‘Purple Skies’ was granted a Universal (U) certificate by the censor board, it was broadcasted on Doordarshan earlier this year. Today, the film is all set to be screened across the entire country.

In the film, you can see people talking about the challenges they face at work, home and in society because of their sexual preferences.

The film is directed by activist Sridhar Rangayan, and is the 1st ever gay film to be aired on Doorsdarshan. Sridhar said during one interview, “While shooting for this film I have met some the bravest lesbian women – like Betu Singh, Maya Lisa-Shanker, Shobhna S.Kumar and Raj Kanaujiya who have put their own life at stake to help other women. Purple Skies is a salute to their spirit.”

Check out its trailer and make sure to catch the film!
