These four girls with special needs saw India’s flag soar high at Special Olympics World Winter Games in Austria.
Their success story seems more amazing after hearing about all the struggles the girls faced. Kiran, Dulfisha, Diksha, and Vidushi are orphans and found a shelter at SOS Children’s Village. Kiran was abandoned by her parents when she was just a day old. Dulfisha was 7-years-old when her parents died. Vidushi was four-days-old when she was brought to the shelter. Sports brought a lot of hope in their lives, and they pursued it professionally.
The girls got selected for Women’s Floor Hockey team by Special Olympics Bharat (SOB). Vidushi was also picked by Women’s Floor Ball team.
India catered 37 Gold, 10 Silver, and 26 Bronze Medals, wherein the girl squad had filled the bucket with Bronze for Women’s Floor Hockey and the Best Floor Ball Player medals.
The sport made them believe in their abilities, and now the entire nation entrusts them to stand by the honor of the tricolor in the international competitions. These girls are miracles.
