New Diet That Actually Promotes Regeneration & Longevity In Your Body

Undoubtedly, all of us think that eating less is the ONLY way to lose weight.

However, a new study that was published in the journal Cell Metabolism says that in reality, drastically cutting down calories for just a few days can do wonders to your health.

Researchers at the University of Southern California tested the “periodic fasting mimicking diet” on mice, and then asked 19 people to go for it. This diet that was less than half of their normal caloric intake, and featured about 12% protein, 44% carbs, and 44% fat. The process went on for 5 days in a row each month, for three months straight. For the rest of the time, they ate whatever they wanted.

By the end, it was found that the participants had lower risk factors when it came to diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and even aging (since this diet can decrease a certain hormone in your body, IGF-I, which promotes aging).

One of the lead researchers Valter Longo said in a statement, “It’s about reprogramming the body so it enters a slower aging mode, but also rejuvenating it through stem cell-based regeneration. It’s not a typical diet because it isn’t something you need to stay on.”

The researchers say that this diet can be practiced once every two weeks! But mind it, this diet is a bit difficult to follow. Will you go for a trial?
