In October, Mithali took hold of the 1st rank in the ICC ODI rankings and also became the only female cricketer to score more than 6000 runs in ODI cricket.
Mithali’s talented team made its way to the finals of ICC world Cup 2017 which unfortunately they lost to the host team England but definitely made its mark in the game.

Virat Kohli with Sanjiv Goenka’s RPSG launched the initiative of honoring sportspersons from all the fields with the award function Indian Sports Honours. The award function came as a double delight for the skipper as she clinched awards for Sportswoman Of The Year and for the Team of the Year.

Mithali’s team is now preparing for the series in South Africa in February 2018.
The jury deciding the winners were Pullela Gopichand, Mahesh Bhupathi, PT Usha, Anjali Bhagwat, Arjun Halappa, along with Sanjiv Goenka (chairman of the RP-SG group).
