The Ministry of Women and Child Development in partnership with the ministry of IT and Communications has launched a website khoyapaya.gov.in. This website is a social initiative to find the missing and sighted children.
For now it has 590 registered users. The website has got 33 missing complaints, and 25 sighting alerts in just few hours.
WCD minister Maneka Gandhi said: “We had launched a website earlier, TrackChild, which is operated by the police. The PM suggested last year that we need to have a website to track missing children, and we went ahead to have one so that anyone can post any information on a child that has gone missing.”
Survey says between 2010 and 2015, TrackChild had helped recover a little above 75,000 missing children, which was roughly a fourth of the children that went missing during that time.
Apart from this, we hope you know of the helpline for missing children where you can call at 1098. It is estimated that the helpline has helped recover 1 crore children till now.
