Love + Hate = Jealous Relatives

Family and all of our interactions with them are supposed to be a blessing. But, if you have a jealous family, you feel absolutely cursed. Jealous family members do exist, and they can cause a problem with family overall. They are not an urban legend or a strange delusion, as we would believe.
This can happen to people of all ages. We must learn to identify jealous behavior and then learn how to handle the negative feelings of jealousy.
1. Keep your mouth shut
While you cannot remove yourself from the family tree, you can easily manage any jealous family members that you have. The most important step is to keep them out of your personal business. They do not need to know that you are purchasing a new home or awaiting a promotion. Do not fuel the fire for their gossip and their negative talk.
2. Remove the guilt.
Do not feel guilty that you are pulling away by not sharing your life story with them. Sometimes, you just have to love people from far away. It’s easy to feel that you are being the bad guy when you are simply trying to protect yourself.
3. Avoid Confrontation.
Don’t fight fire with fire. If you start returning tit for tat, you are no better than they. Two negatives don’t make a positive. Don’t resort to revenge, no matter how tempted you might be. Some gossip-mongers might entice you to a cat-fight by saying, “Did you hear what [jealous person] said about you?”. Ignore these attempts at war; others just want to be entertained at your expense. It will make the situation even worse if you returned the favours. The most important thing for you to remain is a loving, caring individual and not allow the antics of jealous family members to make you bitter. This may sound weird, but become the peace that you seek from your family.
4. Don’t try to change them either.
This is your life, and only your life that is in full your control. So, take care of it, and create a better loving world around you. Don’t allow your reactions define reality.
