You can’t guess how much team JWB is yearning for the D-day to arrive.
‘Classroom on Wheels’ is our social campaign where Jaipur based renowned designers are coming up on one platform to raise money for the betterment of school-going underprivileged kids.
Lately, we’ve noticed how difficult it is for these kids to study during late hours in the evening because of lack of electricity, plus low attention from their parents worsen the situation. The participating designers are creating mod-items using old school bags which will later be sold in a grand event! The money raised will be invested to hire a full-time teacher and some portable furniture for slum kids.
One such participating artist is Shan Bhatnagar, the one whose ‘golden cows’ are admired majorly. The otherwise quiet Shan is extremely excited about the event. Let’s find out what he is up to with that old orange-y yellow school bag we gave to him!
“Hah! I am using the backside of the bag, so no more puzzling over that color”, chuckles Shan.
Shan told us that he is folding this side to create a hand-bag shape, on which he will be painting his patent motifs of cows in golden paint. “…along with some gota-patti and sequence to give it a more Indian look”, remarks Shan.
We are in lust with the whole deal. Can’t wait to see the final product already!
If you are as eager as we are, make sure to pay us a visit at the event where Shan’s masterpiece along with 9 other designers’ artworks will be put on sale.
