Get Some Fresh Diwali Shopping Tips With FICCI Flo Bazaar

  • IWB Post
  •  October 21, 2015

The time to get panicky is almost here! Diwali shopping is more often a headache than joy, mainly because it is a crucial task to select clothes, home decor, shoes, accessories, etc. We shortlisted some must buys grazing around the shopping caravans.

Before diving in, JWB tested the market waters by visiting the third annual Flo Bazaar – Aspirations at SMS Convention Centre, Jaipur. We met Mrs. Shalini Agarwal, who organizes Aspirations every year. She told us how every canopy had items you wouldn’t find at other stalls.

Well, I think I can’t deny that! We scanned through the exhibition to find stalls from throughout India. Specialties of Lucknow, Rajkot, Kolkata, Mumbai had joined hands to give Jaipur a wholesome Diwali package.

Here are some tips that we picked up from the colourful FICCI FLO Bazaar.

Get long lasting diya stands in metal that will stick around for years to come. Painted diyas are one thing, they are easily broken and blackened.

For ethnic dresses, we recommend bandhej dupattas with contrasting coloured suits to stand apart from the crowd. If you’d rather go indo-western, try fresh floral prints in Pakistani style Kurtis.

We came across beautiful brass and beads bracelets that would suit any attire, adding a tribal touch to your clothing.

Digital printed bed sheets, cushion covers can be a quirky addition to the ethnic decor for Diwali.

Digitally printed mini drawers can be filled up with fashion jewellery, stationery. “Vyom Your Heaven” was our inspiration for digitization of “home”!

Let’s not forget the children. Make them mini versions of you, the boys can get the same coloured Kurtas as their daddies, girls can follow footsteps of mummy! You can be all colour coordinated!
