Gamini Rathore: Her wardrobe is a Heartthrob

  • IWB Post
  •  January 18, 2015

Gamini Rathore is in her early 20s and is a fierce management graduate. She knows hers is the age to experiment and keep the fun alive in her wardrobe. We met her one sunny afternoon when she was re-arranging her almirah.

DSC_0312Gamini – I do it every 15 days else I am not able to find my own clothes in this mess.

JWB – Today let it be because we will anyway make you put everything out.

Gamini – I am game!DSC_0315

Favorite shop stops.

Since I am a student and get limited pocket money, I prefer to shop online for good deals. This includes Myntra, Jabong, etc. For days when I have heavy wallets, I prefer going to Zara and Promod.

DSC_0385What has shopping taught you?

That even street shopping is a skill and you can get some unique pieces from it. I enjoy my run-through at Delhi’s Sarojini Nagar.

Do you want to show anything from there?

This black top with sequin work. DSC_0357

Latest shopping from sale.

This Puma pair.

DSC_0317Recent shopped you are proud of.

Victoria Secret Body Mist that I bought during GOSF 2014. It costs 1500/-, however I got it for just 700 bucks!

How often do you experiment with your style?

Very less. I like solid hues mostly pastels and no bold prints. You will also see me in monotone dark shades.

DSC_0387Style that says ‘It’s me’.

This denim shirt. It is sexy yet it defines the ‘girl-next-door’ in me.

DSC_0322Style that gives you confidence.

Jackets and black color.

DSC_0354Most daring closet piece.

The monochrome striped dress. The neckline is interesting.

DSC_0331From friend’s closet.

I’ve snatched this scarf from my friend. I usually pair it with my basic tee-shirts.

DSC_0327A must-have in every girl’s wardrobe for parties?

A little black dress. I have mine with lace sleeves.

DSC_0404Dream couture.

I dream of having a Georgette saree with dupion border. I long to wear it during my college farewell this April.

DSC_0365Accessory love.

I love earrings and have plenty of them. It is mostly about silver and black metal. I get them from exhibitions.

DSC_0368 DSC_0369 On a date with granny.

I would prefer wearing Kurta with tights. May be this red one, I somehow like it a lot.

DSC_0403On a date with boyfriend.

Casual wear teamed up with one unique factor like a statement neckpiece or my ‘Military-rank’ Jacket.

DSC_0393DSC_0394Any closet piece that shows the gender gap between you and your mom.

Oh yes, I have this long skirt that belongs to mom and she wants me to wear it. I absolutely don’t like it. Though I know, pairing it with a crop top can do the magic. But no, not now.

DSC_0383The Designer in you.

I think I have a knack for fashion. I love designing my own clothes at times.

1. The Lehariya gown, made from my mom’s old saree.

DSC_03362. The black dupatta. I bought the cloth and border lace from Seekar House (Jaipur).

DSC_03453. The Purple skirt (cloth from Seekar House) and crop top (made from an old long kurti). I wore this combination last Diwali.
