Bumble: A Feminist Dating App

Whitney Wolfe has come up with the idea of ‘feminist’ tinder-like app called ‘Bumble’. For all those who don’t know, Tinder is a really popular dating app, and Whitney also happens to be one of its co-founders.
In past, she sued the company for sexual harassment and sexual discrimination. To make her come-back to the app world a memorable one, she has made a few variations in the app, making it “kinder” towards women.
Unlike all the normal dating apps, Bumble just allows women to make the first move. Men don’t get to send a message first. An added perk is that a woman who sends the text first cannot be called “desperate” because this is how the app works. It encourages women and makes them feel confident. Though, in the case of LGBTQ, there is no such rule.
According to Wolfe, “It isn’t a dating app, it’s a movement.” After just a few month of its launch, Bumble has become quite popular among the people.
