Arundhati Roy once said – “In a way, writing is an incredible act of individualism, producing your language, and yet to use it from the heart of a crowd as opposed to as an individual performance is a conflicting thing. I do stand alone, and yet it’s not about being an individual or being ambitious.”
Today this Man Booker Prize winner has brought another accolade to India. She has been voted the world’s sixth “most important thinker” by the readers of Prospect magazine.
Arundhati has always been vocal about status of women in Indian society and is also known for her work speaking about corruption and Kashmiri independence.
